Problem Note 45482: The SAS® Stored Process Server might stop functioning if a SAS® Stored Process does not clear a SAS/SHARE® engine libref

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

If a SAS/SHARE® library is allocated in a SAS Stored Process and is not cleared, this might cause the SAS Stored Process Server to stop functioning.

For example, the following code might cause this problem:

  LIBNAME mylib server=__8551;

  LIBNAME testlib REMOTE Server=__8551 HOSTNAME="host123" slibref=mylib;

  proc append data=sessions base=testlib.sessions;
  run;

    /* libname testlib clear; */ /* <=== Uncomment this to correct the problem. */

 data _null_;
    file _webout;
    put "<h1>Stored Process ran successfully</h1>";
  run;

Click the Hot Fix tab to access the hot fix for this issue in SAS® 9.3.

This problem also occurs in SAS® 9.4. The hot fix does not correct the problem in SAS 9.4.

If you encounter this problem in SAS 9.4, make sure that you specify a LIBNAME statement to clear the libref. For example:

  libname testlib clear;
